Named after the Buddhist mantra of perfecting practices, Paramita embodies this by valuing perfection with the music they produce. Paramita is composed of Ria Bautista on vocals and drums, Alsey Cortez on bass, and Marco De Leon on guitars. With the drummer also playing as the vocalist, this set-up definitely differentiates Paramita from other local bands.
Love and relationship are the main themes of this band’s music. And just like love, their music is indescribable, giving you room to experience the enigma. With the songs all penned by Ria, Paramita rightly captures the highs and lows of love and wraps them into a heart-pounding, rhythmic web – minus the mushiness. This gives Paramita the right kind of mix to cater to their diverse audience.
Despite being such a young band, Paramita tries to continue practicing the Buddhist mantra that inspired them to be who they are through their music of love and loss.
Album Review: KAMIKAZEE New “MAHAROT”Album As Exhilirating and Intriguing As Their Live Set
by Universal Records
Here’s the newest and most awaited Kamikazee album titled “Maharot” -- one musical package as exhilirating and intriguing as the The song is actually a metaphor of true love that is sadly unrequited. The “Narda” music video directed by Ace Enriquez recently premiered on Myx with rave reviews. “Chicksilog” is another hit potential from the “Maharot” album released by Universal Records.
The band’s playful, restless and boundless energy; wild imagination and consistent creativity are very evident on songs like “Sobrang Init”, “A.I.D.S..”, “Shoot Dat Bol”, “Ambisyoso”, “Discoskwela”, “Apir Day”, “My Tender Bear” and “K.K.K.”
Kamikazee is Allan “Bords” Burdeos on drums. Jason “Puto” Astete on bass, Led Tuyay on guitars, Jomal Linao on guitars and second vocals, and Jay Contreras who performs his own stunts while on lead vocals.
The band first caught the alternative audience fancy through their first hit “Chinelas”. The song crossover to mainstream Pinoy music scene, so Kamikazee soon became a nationwide sensation.
Their indescribable stage antics and fine musicality have given them Best Live Act awards from different groups, including the NU Rock awards which also honored Allan as drummer of the year.
Kamikazee’s cover of Britney Spear’s “Lucky” gave them the Best Music Video plum at the MTV Pilipinas Music Awards 2003. All band members are from the U.P. Fine Arts Department, so their common love for fun and music. It’s not surprising that the group conceptualized their album sleeve which features Eula Valdez in sexy poses, including on the “Maharot” “red hot” poster.
Kaye Abad supplied back-up vocals, while Chito Miranda wrote additional lyrics.
HOT and HEAVY: Two of the major adjectives that best describe the newest breakout artist in the music scene – The Stares.
They bring the oldies but goodies back with a vengeance. Tweaking the classics with a touch of punk and rock, they produce music with a new modern twist. As Eddie Alejandro (the lead singer) says it, “It’s all about enjoying the oldies but in a modern way.” Indeed very hot and very heavy, they have managed to mix the classics and modern rock that will sweep away the hearts and the ears of the audience.
The Stares have indeed put together a sure-fire recipe for success. With their dedication and passion for music -- along with their repertoire of rock hits tweaked with a modern flavor, they are sure to make a mark in the music industry. With their burning and grave passion for music; they are bridging the gap and reviving the classics, while introducing their own version of classic rock melodies to the younger generation.

hidi namn sapilitan ang lahat but you also have to be aware and be professional nalang. but you don't even have the guts to face your booker and your employer even just to say that you cannot continue the booking, instead u just let it be. hindi lang kayu ang banda but u have to inform whoever the person involve coz a lot of profession is in risk. not talking about JONG regular job, na he resigned coz what he knows ur leaving na, GINA & MARG also just waitng for d visa to come out,& FUSION band that is waiting to replace got no choice but to stay coz theres no band to replace them, even their visa will expire soon now their future booking in other employer in korea is in risk coz of posibilty that they may be blacklist due to overstay. so what now? again mr kan loose his credibility.
SKETCHWORKX and so other members are not innocent on whats going on with their booking everything is settled as everyone expects then just bcoz of other pple say & tonyjack said the whole thing mess up!
like what SKETCHWORX BAND did. they just turn down the booking without prior notice now so many individuals are suffering coz of d impulsive decision that they don't want to pursue the bookung after signing and processing s visa.
